Dominick R DeRubbio is the founder and President of Salvus Group, LLC.
Before Salvus Group, Dominick worked at Able Services, the largest privately held engineering and building maintenance company in the United States. While at Able Dominick oversaw health and safety compliance for over 1,200 employees along the East Coast. Projects included: The World Trade Center, Governors Island, The Time Warner Center, John Hancock Tower, NASA National Headquarters and other high profile projects.
Prior to working at Able Services, Dominick served as a Senior Fire and Emergency Preparedness Manager at Total Safety Consulting where he oversaw the implementation of fire safety plans, emergency action plans and fire safety operations. During his tenure Dominick also taught the EAP Director Course, Construction Site Fire Safety Manager Course and the 40 Hour Site Safety Manager Course. Projects included: Madison Square Garden, Hammerstein Ballroom, New York Presbyterian Hospital, The New School and MTA Bridges and Tunnels.
With safety at the core of his career, Dominick has also demonstrated passion for assisting those in need by dedicating time to the American Red Cross of Greater New York, where he coordinated disaster drills and planning exercises, as well as the New York City Office of Emergency Management where he worked in the Emergency Communication Center.
Dominick is authorized by the FDNY and OSHA to teach fire-related, emergency management and construction safety courses. He is also a certified Aerial Work Platform trainer and New York State-licensed Asbestos supervisor. He also maintains memberships and certifications with of the National Fire Protection Association and Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
Between 2010 and 2011 Dominick worked for the New York State Assembly where he served as Constituent Liaison to Assemblyman Matthew Titone of the 61st assembly district. He also advised the assemblyman on matters of public safety.
Dominick obtained his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees in Fire and Emergency Service studies with a master’s thesis titled: ”Human Perception of Exit Signs During Building Evacuations” from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. He is also active with the Boy Scouts of America, where he obtained the rank of Eagle Scout and the Free and Accepted Masons, Perfect Square Lodge No. 204.
